Yay!

2025. Mar 8 – Rejected
Rejected because of a leftover screenshot for 4-inch iPhones… I deleted the screenshot and re-submitted the app for review.

2025. Feb 22 – Gym Gorilla v0.9 beta
I’ve released the first stable beta for testers. Most features work.

Progress gets saved automatically. The History view shows all completed workouts. The main view shows the last completed workout plus motivating stats.
In Settings, you can customize the app’s color theme, set your preferred unit of measure, and set other default values.
Coming up: progress view, and adding new workouts using a template.
Motivation
I’ve been a long-time user of the workout tracker app from Bodybuilding.com. The app was far from perfect, but it did the job.
There were hiccups, but last year was the worst: it went offline for several months. I had to go back to pen and paper to keep track of my workouts. The app eventually returned, but it didn’t feel the same.

Then, a couple of weeks ago, the company decided to completely kill the old app and replace it with a new, TikTok-like version.
I gave it a try, but it was a total disaster.
Now, all my 10+ years of workout history are gone.
I tried another app called Gymverse, which looked promising, but it’s a piece of sh*t. Featured as a free app, it nags you with ridiculous subscription fees.
Somehow, I managed to start it without paying the EUR 120+ annual subscription, but I wish I had never installed it in the first place. It completely ruined my workout.
The UI is weird and lacks simple features like adding new sets or modifying the workout once it’s started.
I’ve had enough. As a software engineer, I decided to develop my own gym tracker.
My goal is to create a simple, straightforward app that does exactly what it promises: track your workouts and show your progress. I want to keep it focused on the workout itself. It will be a premium, pay-once-use-forever app—no shady subscriptions or hidden paywalls!

I’m looking for volunteers to beta-test the app. I’ll ask you to try it out and give me your feedback. As a thank you for your help, I’ll gift you the app. Let me know if you’re interested—only a limited number of seats are available.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered for beta testing!
