Scrum vs Agile: What is the difference?

“We need to be Agile!” “Let’s implement Scrum!” You might have heard these phrases thrown around in your organization as you decide on a project management philosophy for your software development.

Does that mean that Scrum and Agile are synonyms? If not, why are these two concepts so often used together? Can an organization be agile without Scrum? Can Scrum exist without Agile?

The terms Scrum and Agile are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing.
